The De Ville Rattrapante is fitted with the revolutionary Co-Axial escapement, a technology exclusive to Omega, and designed by the horological master, Dr.George Daniels. It represents one of the most significant advances in traditional watchmaking techniques. The Co-axial escapement obtains a level of efficiency superior to that of the lever escapement while maintaining reliability and accuracy. Friction is considerably reduced and performance is further improved by a free-sprung balance that allows for more precise adjustments of the watch. The white rhodium-plated movement is finished with wave-patterning, circular-graining and gold-plated engraving. The screw and column-wheel components are made of blued-steel and the movement is visible through the gorgeous sapphire crystal case back.
The black dial has chronograph counters allowing for easy reading of both the chronograph, date and time functions.

The continuous seconds subdial (at 9), has an intriguing 'railway-track' design that offers improved clarity. It utilizes a double-arc design; the inner arc measures the first 30 seconds and the outer arc the remaining time. Seconds are read off using just one double-tipped blued-steel hand - when the smaller arm is rotating along the rail-arc, the initial 30-seconds are being timed. When the longer skeletonized arm is visible, the latter 30-seconds are being measured. The unique date aperture is displayed in the unusual position of 11 oclock. The 3-day continuous date window allows for accurate date reading even when the present day is obscured by the minute hand - since the previous and following dates, though partially covered, remain visible.

The De Ville Co-Axial Rattrapante is presented on a black alligator strap with a fold-over clasp.

SuperLuminova-coated tips ensure night-time visibility. The dial also features luminous, facetted and diamond-polished Alpha hour and minute hands.
